Joshua Kissi : There is something intriguing about hiking boots, maybe the sense of adventure and discovery. [who knows..] I highly doubt I will be trekking across challenging terrains, other than slippery NYC subway platforms and a bit of snow – it’s great to have footwear that is pretty much ready for any terrain. Since there are already slip remarks of snow so early in the season,[fun times!] see this as the preliminary step to the upcoming brutal winter season.
Speaking as a NY native I think we saw our fair share of boots throughout the years from brands like Timberland, Vasque, Goretex to ASolo that people gravitated towards for the fall/winter seasons. I could honestly attest to purchasing boots primarily based on the look/design of them, and advanced functionality would take a prolonged backseat during this whole thought process.Ok, let me rephrase my thoughts a bit – Size 11 US boots doesn’t exactly look the most flattering especially considering small leg openings on trousers/pants. I would come across many hiking boots from the usual suspects of companies, but once tried on had a second thought, it really depends on personal preference.
Now after some years with a bit of more grounded knowledge I’m not solely looking at the design, but the arch support, durability, traction of soles and overall warmth. I can’t tell any fables here the Danners were a good fit for me balancing functionality/design. [Ready for the season]
Listening to [The Souljazz Orchestra - Awakening]
Here’s another musical insertion from the Canadian band Souljazz Orchestra truly a favorite of mine with mixtures of Jazz, Latin, Afro beat and everything in between. The title of the song speaks for itself “Awakening” a progressional music journey with expanded trumpets through out. [It just sounds like the fall season to me]
Location : Central Park, NYC

I am loving that J Crew leather and the boots of course are very cool, I have seen a few rugged pair of men’s boots in magazines lately that look so cool, they should make them for women too
As always the photos are awe-inspiring..

Don’t downplay those ‘slippery subway platforms and bits of snow’! You can’t overstate the importance of a good sturdy pair of boots to New Yorkers. Since most of us don’t own cars, we walk several miles a day through all kinds of terrain, and in the winter it gets rough: broken up streets, potholes…
I always thought that was part of the success of outdoorsy brands like Timbaland in urban areas, because city people actually do spend a lot of time outdoors.

If you don’t tie those boots up tighter you’re going to sprain you’re ankle when you’re hiking.

@maggie, Ah yes I totally agree that’s why in the next paragraph I mention numerous brands that a lot of NYers responded to through out the years, the first paragraph is for comical relief I’m actually a pretty sarcastic guy and it may be a bit difficult for that to come through text, but yes outerwear is important in NYC – totally agree!

@DAve, Hey Dave I know you mentioned on your tumblr on how bloggers do this with LL Bean boots and most times you are certainly correct bean boots need to be tied pretty tight before you fall out of them. As for the Danner boots they were tied pretty tightly from the lower section to the mid [personal preference] with the top containing so much extra lace you need to find a way to finagle all of that. So, wah lah *pictured above*

@DAve, Dude, don’t mean to add fuel to the fire at all because SE’s comment section is usual cool but I checked out your tumblr , and you wore Ray Ban wayfarers to Church of all places. I’ll stop there because your site had some other cool shots from Brimfield and thats my hometown.
Ooops sorry I almost looked like a dedicated blogger comment hater back to this post – excellent stuff here Joshua I saw that leather jacket from the crew a number of months ago , it fit like a glove.

@JK, Oh, okay. a long as they fit. Didn’t mean to hate. The fit of your clothes are always good, so I was surprised to see such a large boot. BTW, that leather jacket is great, nice choice.

@Gregory Heinz, what sunglasses would wear? I thought the wayfarers were understated, and therefore good for a trip to church. My only other glasses are aviator types. And also I would never wear sunglasses IN church, I’d probably burn in hell.
If you’re from Brimfield then I hope your family was okay after the tornado. Any tips for the Brimfield show?
posted on October 29 , 2011 :
@DAve, No problem at all – your comment is justified brother as I mentioned in my earlier comment, some people do this and like the style/visuals of a loosened boot rather than the functionality of a boot tied to the top. I guess with time..
I know Gregory mentioned the Brimfield fare, Travis and I were supposed to go this year w/ Ouigi of the Brooklyn Circus, but we missed it. I heard it’s the vintage fair of all vintage fairs, with a lot to sort through. Definitely next time.

@Dave, Aha! Burn in hell hilarious – Thanks for the good for the hopeful words , I see you’re not malicious after all and everyone was pretty fine. As far as tips for the Brimfield show dude there’s always so much to look through sometimes 50% of the items/antiques would be identified as junk by most people but give it another look some of those items just need a good *spit shine* and they’ll be brand new again.

Being someone that is also a size 11 I too have the problem of the bulky boot:slim pant ratio. But I agree with your choice of the Danner Mountain Light. It’s a no frills boot that’s been around forever and WILL be around forever. Especially since you wear more slimmer pants consistently it suits you best. I myself switch between slim pants to more straight legged jeans, the straight being more “forgiving” to bulkier shoes.
What I like even more so is the fact that the outfit along with the boot feels Japanese inspired. Not sure if that was an influence but it reminds me of what the Japanese have been doing for years along w/ Wingtips/oxfords w/ Vibram soles.
Kudos again primo. Cheers.

Third, Hiking books are a must have for this season wish I had the bread or someone would toss me some 9.5-10′s my way cause I would crush them like pink cookies in a plastic bag. Must love from NC keep up the good work brothers.

Fashion design is an art, as well as a good profession. The trends of today’s fashion is upgrading day by day……Also career growth is incredible….
I happened to work with Kishore Mamillapalli in Delhi. Currently based in New Delhi, he actually belongs from Indore. I worked with him in the domain of fashion designing. Kishore had a great eye for details, and his combination of western and Indian styles and his way of blending them was pretty unique. The 3 years that I worked with him were the most valuable lessons that I learnt. Today though I am a renowned fashion designer I still remember my days of working with Kishore Mamillapalli.
