It's funny how right you are about growth and perspectives changing over time. I remember coming across this site the beginning of this year and thinking...bah thats not for me. Fast forward to now, and this is one of my favorite sites about fashion/style. Of course, things have changed a lot since then, but moreover, i can truly relate to this post. I'm only 19, but a lot of my friends are still "sneakerheads". Nevertheless i get some heat about my style, but it's good to know that I'm heading in the right direction.
Keep up the good work guys! I'm hooked now.

I am so lucky to meet this site, it is a very good site. I like it very

much. I think this is the best website I've met before for its valuable

information, beautiful appearance, unique construction and novel design.

Maybe, every word on this site represent the webmaster's hard work, every

picture is the beautiful showing of web master's soul. It likes the water in

the river, continuous to attract people to come to here, also like a big

diamond, has high value. Thanks to the webmaster of this site, thanks him to

create this great site, this is really wonderful.

U guys really inspire me. I mean just within a span of a year my style and fashion has evolved greatly. I mean i used to think it was all about Polo's and Jordans.lol.. At my school me and my good friend are probably the two most stylish and fashionable people at my high school also with a few people from last year, some more of my good friends.
One day i decided to go with the grey dress shirt khaki pants, red shoes, and red bowtie look; u know the FONZWORTH BENTLEY look.lol. Im not trying to steal the man's style or trying to look like him,as some people said to me; I just call it incorporating someone else's style and/or fashion into my own(IF YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN) Some people were looking at me funny as tho they have never saw a well dressed person before.lol.. Bt then some people told me that a pulled my clothing selection off very very well. I mean just getting that compliment just inspired me even more! I have to agree with you on that most people cant differenciate from style and fashion.
I see fashion as what type of clothes you choose, what type of material. U know stuff like that. And i see style as a way of as JKISSI said; style being like a black canvas. Style to me is also the way you incorporate that FASHION into your life, the way you wear that fashion and how confident you feel wearing that type of fashion.
You know what i mean???

I have to agree somewhat with the fact that it's too early for you to say that this is just a natural style evolution. Seeing the number of responses to this post of people following the same path of going towards a more "sartorial" or "timeless" style, and doing the same myself, it would seem that we could qualify it as a trend. Not the kind of trend that advertisers try to shove down our throats, tasteless clothes and futuristic uniforms, but more of a subtle change of orientation by a noticeable minority, probably turning away from a past of heavy branding and trying to set ourselves apart again.
My only concern is that once a large number of people have adopted this style, it will seem old and boring and we will on move to something new again. How many times have i thought i found something that would stay with me forever for it to just fade away a few years later.
Basically we will have to wait and see before we can say that all these clothes and yes, this trend, will really stay as classics for us.

Neef : I agree man , I have learned to say it all just comes with the territory when sticking out from the norm. I could imagine how Paterson, New Jersey is because I have family in NJ and go there often it's quite different from NYC obviously , but even NYC's outer boroughs have the same point of view. Yeah I guess people would be more comfortable walking around Manhatttan, and certain parts of Brooklyn . That's all it is though to be happy in your own skin good words right there.

Mr.bonds : Yes diversity is the key to this to an extent of course. I don't think everyone wears air force ones , andjeans on a casual day. I can only vouch for myself but I'd wear some canvas shoes, blue jeans and most likely a tshirt . I don't believe you have to be dressed up 100% of the time , sometimes to the person it's not even considered dressing up its how they been dressing for a long time. I bet their casual outfits still revolve around that same realm of things though.

Joseph A : Yeah I was like that before but got past it I think you will do the ame. Yeah update coming soon we're more about interacting with our readers then doing 10 updates a day, but even then we have been a bit slow on the update one coming today though.

Alex : Yeah it is a bit quetionable, but doesn't personal tate rely on ones opinion ? I'm stating personally I won't stop wearing specific items. I agree with you workwear/the whole americana thing is a trend right now, but companies like J.crew has been consistent with their current aestethic , but your right they do recognize it somewhat doing collaborations with brands which would provide to everyone who likes the workwear/menswear thing. I see that as Classic American clothing though I don't know if I could label it as a "Trend" because they were still people who dressed like this prior to the whole explosion of things. I don't want to go out on a limb here and call myself a trend setter, but I think I have done some things which I have put my own spin on it, or made it my own kind of. You bring up a good argument, and I like that.

Don't get me wrong, I have a similar appreciation for these staples. But it's questionable as to wether or not you'll be wearing the same staples in 10 years from now. Right now traditional mens clothing and workwear are a trend but they are also a staple ! What's your answer to that ?! Every guy in NYC is wearing Boat shoes, rolled up pants and an Oxford/chambray shirt. There is a reason why you're seeing J Crew and stores that catter to the mass capitalise on these "directions". It's because Americana is the "trend". SO they happen to get lucky.

But it's a bit "grey area" right now because the trend happens to be over 70 years old! Or from the Ivy league 60's, depends who you ask. Therefore, will we see guys dressing so dapper in 3-5 years from now. Not guys in their late 30's but those in college and early 20's or the disposable income segment.

Or, maybe you're a trend-setter ? after all, that's were it always starts
