Daily Snaps : Capsule NY
JKISSI : Capsule has finally brought their world class trade show to New York City, and I had the perfect opportunity to attend the event for the first time. There was always talks about capsule taking place every year in various parts of the world from Paris back to the U.S. It seems like a lot of people are still unaware of what capsule is hopefully after this you will have a better understanding. My first thought of the exhibit was its diversity among brands being shown there, basically products that everyone could appreciate. The most interesting aspect of the trade show was that they provided a platform for newer brands from all over the world to showcase their product. I’m always excited to see new brands that I have never heard of because we all know the starting of any brand isn’t a simple task. I got to meet a lot of great people who I have established relationships with online such as Ryan from h(y)r, and our good friends BillyKirk who continue to ‘wow’ us with their leather making skills. The amount of brands present made it physically impossible to capture every brand/product , but we did take part in the ones that interested us the most.

Up and coming spring 2010 Red Wing models, real impressive here.
The color variation of the shoes makes this brand one of my favorites at the show. Just the history alone can pull you into a brand.
This fellow here was hand sewing the shoes from scratch you can’t help but watch him make the full complete shoe.
The pattern of this bag/duffle really caught my eye as I was walking reminding me of African print/patterns on a bag. They’re a new company from the U.K be on the lookout for them.

wow this looks a damn sight better than the trade shows i have been to before. some really stylish and forward products here. i don’t know how i would choose between all these boat shoes, like the looks of the ones with the tassels/suede. hand stitching shoes in front of you, thats got to pull a bit of a crowd, looks like you guys had a great time making contacts.

Man this is amazing, I wish I could get a chance at this, I live in florida and there is nothing of the sort here. Where can I find more infor about the capsule trade show. And you guys keep doing what you guys do. We need fellas like you around. I’m hoping to bring this down here to the south wish me luck
From the naked eye, it looks like Trav is doing the “front shirt tuck” look. I still feel uneasy about it but if there’s anyone who can pull it off, it has to be Trav lol.
The show looks good. I have to make it out next time they come to the city (I would have went if I had known, *wink wink*) but I’m sure the next one isn’t too far away. I can’t wait to check out the Florsheim/Duckie Brown collab. I need more wingtips for my casual suiting…..
…BTW: bottom photo, second to last shoe on the right. Is that a navy wingtip?
Guys- Great to meet you as well, next time I’m here we will need to catch up and chat more! I guess I dont even need to post my summary of the show, you guys captured the essence of the show and my favorites quite well. I haven’t even started reading yet (and I mos Def will) but the photography alone has me very intrigued. Can’t wait to see what words accompany the pictures. Kudos once again dudes!

I totally understand you.. Here in valley (California) No one dresses nice clothes. Both men/women wear jeans/shorts/tshirt and thats about it. Quite sad people don’t have any taste for things.

James : Thanks man , I know how you feel kind of being isolated from everything especially down south, but I like your determination to bring trade shows, or these sort of events down there. Nothing is impossible when you really put your all into it, people may think its a far fetched idea but its really not. Keep it up
Jfkjean : LOL dont try to blame me for not notifying you lol the ad was on every big fashion site about it coming to NYC next , people said this one was the best out of all and even though I haven’t been to the others this one was really good, especially for my first time experience. Next time def. and yeah Ryan got you on the id of the shoe.

Willy Cheesesteak : I was surprised you didn’t attend man lol you live in the area, I’m going to start hinting you on up and coming events man lol.
Eno Bull : You already know good photography is a must as far as presentation to the public , I mean we try LOL, but yeah definitely get into the words its not too long of a read but just enough to get the point and more.
Unknowns : Yeah man I agree with him too there’s parts of NYC that would be listed as not well dressed depending on whos judging , but that’s the opportunity for you to express yourself in the way you want. No one is stopping you but you is the way I like to think about it as.
Autumn : Yes there was some great stuff it looks like by the traffic flow everyone became big fans of Yuketen and other brands they didn’t know about prior.
looks like another quality event. The place must have smelled heavily of leather based on the pictures you posted.
Great pics and fits, guys. But that’s par for the course.
It didn’t strike me right away, but I realized Josh’s fit looks even cleaner than usual because he went with the tuck. I hate tucking shirts, but it usually looks weird to avoid it when sporting ties. Josh and Trav are usually able to pull the tie/no tuck look off, but it looks even better with the tuck.

Super great to meet you guys. Great photos as always. Keep up the good work and hopefully next time we can chat a bit more. It was crazy to see everyone and all the brands in one place.

enjoyed some of the good products and friendly people i met.
capsule was really cool.
yuketen, and billy kirk had amazing things and nice was set up really well.
all and all i was having a bad day that day, so my experience was so-so
but i did see some great stuff.

sidenote, Yo i was out in Vegas like 2 weeks ago, Hot as hell.. I tired to roll up my jeans like that, it was a good look, but my jeans wouldn’t commit to it as i walked… Would have probably worked better with a different pair, but i liked it…

For both you fellas, what does the “TM” in “TM Slim Pants” listed under your pics stand for? Never heard of that brand and Google is not a fan of a search for “TM”, too many trademarks out there

Dayinthelyf : Whats going on Reggie, nice meeting you and chattign with you at Topman , damn mangers messing up my convos but yeah man the place was pretty big to the point where the smell of leather didn’t saturate the room at all , it just seems that way because we captured a lot of leather products in our shots I guess.
Brick Callahan : Hey , you’re completely right man sometimes I dislike doing the tuck all depending on my fit and what I’m working with , I remember last year this time I did a untuck with a tie and somehow I pulled it off given the proportions and such. This time around I’m more comfortable doing the tuck with the tie in most cases, because sometimes it just looks better that way. When I’m getting ready I alway test it out in the mirror lol , its like I tuck the shirt in and see how it looks then untuck and see how that feels. 8/10 the tuck works though lol. Thanks for the good words man appreciate the comment.

Squincy : Yeah man we went on monday to the event becaue that was my day off from work well it was me primarily then Trav joined soon after. Wow, you met William Yan great guy we talk back and forth over the internet but never met the dude in real life, he seems like a cool guy epitome of a hustler. Yes man, Yuketen and Billy Kirk really caught my eye at the show real good products from both brands and what made it best for Billy Kirk is the actual brothers in the flesh were present so any questions you had for them could be answered right there and then. Yeah I was behind the camera and thanks man always look fwd to your comments.
Coldsun : Yeah it was a cool event and its all good if you are interested in the fits thats why we posted them , always to give the people another topic to embark on as far as questions/comments on the fit. I’m glad you see the style breakdown of Street Etiquette man , I don’t know if its too good to be true but it really explains our style to the tee, people might think we’re just saying it to appear cool , but its the honest truth here. We both turned 20 years old recently , but yeah I know what you mean I have uncles/cousins/other relatives who just don’t take too much pride/time into their appearance then when they see me , nto to be cocky or prentious they feel like they have to definitely step up their clothing sense on what they wear.
See with the roll up Coldsun it gets a bit tricky you would want to roll it up just enough to the length and when its at that length roll it up again on both legs obv to the point where it feels tight on your legs , and doesn’t move too much when you’re walking. I definitely know what you mean as far as the legs rolling back down the leg when you walk you have to roll it to a point where you’re comfortable and its real tight so it can’t move back down.
Sam : Those Florshiems were definitely a highlight of capsule with fall/winter approaching seeing some of those brougues makes me want to go crazy with the purchases!
Fool’s Gold : Than ks man appreciate it I’m about done with summer man , its a sad thing since i was hyping it up so much and looking forward to it lol.

St.Aubin : Yeah man it depends on what brand you were buying from some needed it for future samples orhter brands were selling stuff right off the table. I wish I would have known to bring more money to the event I would left out of there broke ! lol
