Etiquette Read : It’s All Good Etiquette Read 16 Comments

JKISSI : I will admit I’m not the most avid book reader, but when I do come across books that grab my attention I try to spread the word, after all who doesn’t appreciate a good read. This site is more than just a “fashion” blog we actually try to provide anything interesting involving our lives to you guys much more like a intimate connection. A special thanks to my friend Eno a fellow photographer who let me borrow his own copy for me to put my head in. The book is mainly a photography book breaking away from your average traditional set of literature.  Once I opened up the book there was no stopping me from flipping from page to page. This book is one of the books where you have to mentally prepare yourself to read. Captured in New York City ( Brooklyn & Queens ) the pictures brought chills to my body depicting the grim gritty reality of  the lowest place you can possibly go in my opinion under the ‘hood’. It’s  not like I haven’t seen sample pictures from the book, but it is mostly the narrations  before the images that lure you into the world of the pictures that follow. Boogie did what most photographers aren’t able to do and that is be trusted enough to be let in the neighborhoods of the people depicted in the photos. The stories  of addiction to drugs and gang banging are told by the individuals themselves from their beginnings to current status. Growing up amongst a similar environment especially really reveals your eyes to some things.  People always say pictures can communicate a story to you, and that’s exactly the feeling you get from this book. Each and every picture posses its own tone that you can get from the image, the interpretation is really up to you. The black and white color scheme always seem to turn an already fantastic picture to a classic picture now adding some dramatic backdrop into the image now. As a aspiring photographer myself you become inspired by the time your finished reading the book, and viewing the pictures. It grabbed the attention of a guy sitting directly next to me he was amazed at the images and asked if they were ‘real’ pictures. He asked for the title and author of the book, and I was happy to let him know.  You can purchase it here if you want , always a good choice for personal collections.

Sir Kissi, I’m glad you liked the book brother. I knew you would. This book makes me want to go out and just shoot away in hopes that at least one of my images comes out as crisp and with as much of a story to tell as one of Boogie’s did. What I liked about it was the fact that the images where in deed real as the gentleman next to you asked. Well great post as always bruh, keep it up.

Reggie, yeah kind of maybe it would be photojournalism for himself nothing to report to the media or any sort. shoud pick the book up.

FredX, Yeah it probably took some time and chilling with these individuals before he was just given this type of access to go into their homes and shoot things. It’s pretty amazing in my opinion because even today you still can’t go into any neighorbood without knowing someone or people.

MOB, lol thanks for the props on the outfit i was just there reading/viewing the book tryingto relax lol.

Santo , appreciate it man funny you said that I mean people like fashion as I do , but I like ‘art’ in general so anything that interests me I will respond to in either a negative/positive way or w.e I’m happy as long as people comment no big deal though.

Easy-E , buy it man on Amazon its at cheap prices sure you could get it.

Eno, Again man thanks for letting me borrow this wonderful book you already know how I feel about the book personally. When you told me about the book I have heard of it , but really appreciate bringing it in my brother and we will keep up the good post.

TheCash, lol thanks man I like that slogan ! lol you could be our slogan writer lol

Coldsun, Yes man I think you really need to read and view this. I think the stories you could pass on as long as you read it once because it starts to get too gritty and such for everyday use lol. Atleast for me lol
