JKISSI : The extended family over at the Award Tour continued their journey to the top today by shooting the Summer 2009 catalogue. This is the first time we have actually taken part in one of the Award Tour shoots. Ran by Phil himself , the shoot seemed to have everything that an amazing shoot would consist of. Me and Travis made our way all the way from Uptown to the shoot location in Jersey City, a place where we haven’t been before. We we’re unaware how close Jersey City was Manhattan just a few minutes on the PATH train would bring us there with no problem. I decided to snap some pictures on our way there to the location consisting of some more behind the scenes looks at the madness. Don’t kill the messenger here ! , I don’t have the full collection for you guys that will be releasing as days go on. One thing I will tell you guys is that the collection designs are nothing short of clean, with a fit on the clothes anyone would approve of. The shoot went on with no music which is usually blasting out of the speakers at shoots, to shall I say “increase” your charisma as you shoot your pictures. All we needed here was the waves crashing against the rocks , and a perfect wind breeze. The shoot was shot by TONE, a great photographer who’s catalogue is pretty amazing in itself. There is nothing like a photographer’s passion to capture the perfect shot like he says “All you need is one”. I cant wait until the collection drops officially, I definitely need some pieces from this collection. Street Etiquette and Award Tour Family always fun with madness combined.

Im after that award tour hat. It’s got summertime fav written all over it. Given I dont have nothing to wear it with I may jus have to go in on a matching shirt as well. Jeans I have plenty. Let me check out the catalogue though. Im sure there is going to be alot to like.
Congrats on being in the photoshoot my brother! Like I said, imma have to make some moves up north my man.
Loving the look..A lot different from what y’all normally wear but thats more my style..more chill. Good stuff holla at me.
photos are sick. clothes look meh at best. we get it, you’re retro. also nautical theme? you’re late.
I got love for JKissi, dont know if im feeling the glasses though.
Not retro at all my brother Adam, and if Nautical is considered late than your going to have to talk to a lot more people besides myself including Ralph Lauren, J.Crew, and Nautica every season for the past fiveteen years.
Always love to hear varying opinions on the line brother, makes me work harder.
Stay Safe.
^^I have to see some of the pieces in detail before I jugde them. I don’t get adam’s comment at all, I don’t see much retro or nautical about ‘em…I see some dope looking colthing though
is it at all possible to cop that navy hoody trav is wearing, or the gray award tour hoodies phil and company were wearing during that campus photoshoot?
The shot with the little girl and the dog, so adorable, captured the moment perfectly.
Josh doing big thangz.
I’m not loving the line
I’ve liked some of the Award Tour tees in the past though
snaps legit
tees nice
hoody dope….

i am paying close attention to the award tour..
i dig the blog a lot.
phil’s writing is very interesting and playful.
i feel the movement, and really respects how he juggles
life, school, designing , running the line, and can find time to blog.
i cant find time for ish’. anymore!? maybe the days are shorter where i live.
lol..
im looking forward to see what the award tour has in store.
also,
how did the name come about!? it has a smooth flow
little things like that always interest me
A great day indeed. I’m looking forward to seeing the finished lookbook pics. Tone is a pretty cool dude and a great photographer. It’s crazy how Award Tour has evolved, this spring line is well done and that’s not just me giving props to my brethren. I know hard work when i see it. The fit on the hoodies are superb, a real nice slim fit.
The funniest part of the day is that tiny girl holding that big ass dog and getting pulled around
Appreciate all the comments on here.
April, I knew Jersey City was close , but not that close I know people recommend Jersey City when people are looking for real estate in NYC and all fails, it seems Jersey City is the spot for some people to commute to Manhattan in a good amount of time.
Phil, nice response to Adam I totally agree with you there man.
Willy Cheesesteak , thanks man that shot was just of the moment the girl with her dog came over to us, well more like the dog was walking her and she couldnt control the dog. I had my camera in hand so I just leveled up and started to snap some shots trying to get that ‘money’ shot. Picture really captures everything.
Squincy, yeah phil’s writing just grabs you forcing you to read what ever he says on the blog , I think we discussed about this before. Guy is really making strides , got to support.
dope! an loving this
dAmn never heard of this brand , but i need it in my life
Absolutely love your photographs — especially the man playing chess. The lighting is beautiful.
Yeah, it literally takes no more than fifteen minutes to get to the city. It’s extremely convenient to get back and forth.
These are great pics
makes me feel like spring is back
