Fine & Dandy General Style 18 Comments

JKISSI : Recently I have been looking to purchase a suit that really fits me for the first time in my life.  Trav has completed his search and found more than one suit that fits him good.  I feel like every man needs a suit in their life especially if it fits you perfectly. This here was no easy process I had to weigh out brands, quality, and price point of the items.  Researching was my first task, unaware that there was an abundance of information on how to choose the right suit for yourself. Good news, I found the right suit for me it required some minor alterations from Pablo as I stated in the tailor post I would do. Pictures of me in the suit will surface on the Internet soon enough once everything is lined up perfectly. My friends over at Fine And Dandy recently gave me a opportunity to be interviewed in their New School Dandy Profile section.  Fine and Dandy serves the Internet with great men’s accessories such as bow ties, money clips, pocket squares and a lot more to keep you dapper. This inspired me to go around the web and capture some inspiring pictures and put it all on one blank canvas.  Check out the interview to see a trace of what goes on in my crazy mind.

    Thanks Reggie appreciate it,

jsw2003, I checked for brands that were around my price range like anything $500.00 or less I really wanted to check a wide range so I looked at BananaRepublic, Calvin Klein, H&M, Zara, Tommy Hilfiger ,Club Monaco. I thought if I was going to buy a suit that didnt fit me how I wanted to take into account the amount of money for alterations paying for the suit in the total. They have online stores such as Thick as Thieves who are located in CALI if I lived close I would stop by and talk to those guys. I know a couple of people who purchased suits from them and it looked pretty good.

Somatirius, Appreciate that man you already know how NYC is if you break it down .. thans for reading interview.

What do you think about Joseph A. Bank? It’s a budget priced Brooks Brothers. I’ve got a couple of suits by them. Also which do you prefer more 2 or 3 button? check the link below for some moderately priced suits with quality materials being used. Alot of the names you dropped use less quality fabric in their suits and sell simply the name. check the link below and tell me what you think of the suits.

jsw 2003, Those suits look great man, I would prefer a 2 – button style over the 3 button for some reason just looks cleaner. Yeah your right I chose to go with my workplace and buy a Topman skinny fit suit including a great discount , and it had the fit I was looking for. More of the european cut real slim and such. I like those suits though seems the quality is up to par I will definitetly check it out next time and recommend it to people.

Which suit do you have on their?

Squincy, Thanks man I see that our styles are definitetly similar from your previous comments, its funny because that little feature on Marcus Troy got us a lot of exposure and I thank that man to the fullest. Yeah man Phil writing skills is definitetly one to be messed one , it keeps you intrigued as soon as you read the first sentence of a post lol.

Elmo, Thans appreciate it! , your site is nice also flipping through the pages, you definitetly need to come through the bronx next time you visit man, we could link up no problem.

The suits I have are earlier models since I purchased them several years ago. I do carry suits from both the executive and the signature line. On the site you’ll see signature gold and plat lines. Those are the lines that are more fashionably forward with slimmer euro features in the body and more up to date patterns. My friend manages a store here locally in the area and gives me a pretty deep discount on the suits. I wouldn’t mind a brooks brothers suit seems how they do have a bespoke line. They are just a tad more than what I can afford to pay.The suits on joe banks are semi bespoke. For me I have to wear a suit all day long at my job as I work in a bank. So even if I did have a couple 3 piece Versace suits for Tuesday and Thursday and Yves St. Laurent suits for the rest of the week it still would be bland after awhile.

Good…That’s what i’m feeling tho, put the “X” on the map baby. I always tell people the Bronx is a hidden gem, dont sleep on it, but since it has a violent past, that stigma still exists 30 years later. But i’m hating New york city as of lately, its being commercialized, and gentrified as a whole. it’s all business. i feel its lost its zest, culture, and free spirit. A lot more Conservative. you should make a post about that. Holla, for the Bronx meet up!

    :O
Look at all the BX love!?!?!?!
I reside in the Bronx too!!! I’m a teacher and i also Teach in the Bronx…
The Bronx is totally forgotten… And generally looked down on when it comes to style… like I goto all these “style” blogs, and its only street photos of people in Brooklyn or Harlem… I can’t even front though, the BX is probably one of the realer, real NY, least gentrified, raw areas left in the city… but i still got alotta love for it.. And i’d even agree that it isn’t the most stylish boro, but there are a few cats up here doing it…
Thats whats up… I’m a Alpha too, so i noticed some Alpha Phi Alpha love in the image up there, thats wusup…

I’ve been following this blog for a minute, and I’m continually impressed with the work ya’ll cats put in. Its refreshing to see other dudes who are so young grinding it out. I actually just transferred out to Hunter for the Baccalaureate for unique and interdisciplinary studies(look into it if you stay in the cuny system brother) this past spring, and am currently looking for a place in the city (staying in jersey city currently..good price, close to manhattan, but not the city), and I’m really gonna look closely at the bronx for a spot. So if you know any good locations, anything would be appreciated. But yea man, in summation, I like the hustle on this blog, and I put a good word out there for ya’ll heavy when blogs are discussed, so keep doing your thing and I’ll keep pushing for ya’ll to touch new air..

Ohh..and shout out the frat…the A Phi A pic goes hard, and it’s good to see the frat is heavy everywhere you go. Holla at me coldsun..

Im seriously loving all these comments!

Jsw2003, I see them they look good thanks for this site definitetly saved in my bookmarks man. Yeah man it makes no difference to throw a Versace suit and YSL in the mix no one would probably notice unless theyre on their game to the max.

Matt Fox, thanks man I searched high and low for them pictures lol I’m glad people feeling the same way I did when I saw them. Thanks for the opportunity and all Matt!

Meji, Good looks appreciate it yeah man since your going to be in places like Europe your going to NEED a good suit man. A good investment can be made. Those pictures will be up before you know it man watch lol.

Bronx_Bred, Wow man I have been telling people this for a good minute now, me and Trav always discuss the Bronx’s comeback like we really need one. I cant say I hate New York City as a whole though I mean the city is nice and all, but when I go back to my borough I feel at home, just some adjustments to the borough would be great lol thats about all. Yeah your right gentrification is spreading like wild fire in places like Harlem , especially Brooklyn though. I’m not trying to disrespect anyone out there, but I really dont want that to happen the bronx, pushing people out of an area , reconstruct than raise the prices. I would just want to work on the community as a whole in some sense, without moving people out , thats not excluding people who want to move here and do the same, this place has so much to give , we just have to help. Yes bronx link up in the future would be cool man. Good idea on that post we had something similar coming on a focused post on the Bronx I think you guys will love it, just a lot we have to put into it.

Coldsun, Yes the BX love is there lol I refuse to reject my borough man , even though its not in the best condition. We always talk about the Bronx being the forgotten or lost borough in fact when it comes to style these days the Bronx is HARDLY, or not mentioned at all. When me and Trav meet people in the city they immeadiately think were from everywhere , but the Bronx.. mostly get Brooklyn or Harlem. See this is where we come in though we will make it known were from the Bronx , if you read the interview we want to create a new feel and niche for the Bronx in particular the South Bronx. It’s a task ahead but me and Trav definitetly made a promise to take on it with no excuses, we love this place , we want to see a variety of things blossom up here. Its like since the Bronx is so distant from downtown a lot of things that are usual down there start to fade as you go more up in the borough. Its crazy man lol. Btw where do you teach at??

Promtheus , We appreciate that man, its hard to get out there in the blogosphere with many blogs out there some doing the same others are doing and such. I feel like our blog is more personal and it does need to be more known around the internet, so I thank anyone who puts out a good word for us. We have only been out for 1 year exactly right now and the growth has been amazing from the loyal readers we have who comment on every post , It just pushes us with determination to keep doing this man. BTW I think you could definitetly find a nice place in the Bronx more southbronx where you would be alright with trains down to the city. If i hear anything I”ll let you know , but do some research on it man.

Everyone keep pushing the blog name to people and sites !! Appreciate it!

yea man, it’s gonna happen soon though…once Harlem is complete, moving on up to the X. by 3rd ave, they are building condo’s and studio’s and dubbing the area “SoBro” a play on soho. I personally dont have a problem with the change, but when the transplants come in and suck away the culture and history of the area, thats when i feel theres a problem.
