Common Projects Spring / Summer 2009

JKISSI : This spring & summer wont be complete without purchasing something that would be worthwhile. I have been anticipating the collection from Common Projects for this spring/summer and discovered it while browsing ssense. This season seems like they used classic types of shoes but added their twist to it as usual. When you think about spring/summer you think about vibrant colors and I think the two low top shoes coming in red and teal are stand outs among the rest. Apart from those two shoes I previously mentioned, I feel like they played it safe pertaining to this collection. The white Achilles mid seems like an necessity for the upcoming season also always need some good white sneakers to start the season off. I feel you man the price isnt some cheap stuff , I like to wait for them to go on sale or get a coupon most of the time lol.

I’ve always passed up on them because of the price. But to hell with it this time, the teal (is that the color?) is my new boyfriend.

IMHO I believe Common Projects will always play it safe because it’s a minimalist shoe. Common Projects will always be in my top 10 essentials. At first i was a bit hesitant at spending around two hundred and fifty dollars on the achilles Hi-tops, but i never had any regrets i’ve been having these sneakers for close to one year and a half and they are still going strong. The shoes lean shape, slimmer laces, and fine Italian leather allow them to go well with both suits and jeans. I’m not sure if they still do but common projects uses the same soles as Lanvin Sneakers.

Hey Tommy I agree with you , but I was just expecting more you pin pointed a good aspect of Common Project’s theyre a minimalist shoe. I wouldnt regret my purchase of Achilles either man you feel the quality on these shoes, for people contemplating on whether to buy or not to buy it’s definitely a good shoe and feels like it lasts long. Yeah im unsure about Lanvin and CP soles though. I’ll look into it.

not really feeling the spring/summer season as much as i thought i would. there are a few styles that i’m kinda feeling but i’m nothing really jumps out at me. the tournament lows are the same shoe from last season, court lows, minus the toe cap…i recommend finding the court lows if you can. I absolutely love mine.
